Forest Memories is an art project that explores the deep, intrinsic connection between humans and forests through a series of five prints. For this project, I conducted in-depth conversations with five individuals, asking them about their favorite places and their most cherished memories in the woods. The stories and wishes shared with me served as inspiration to visually capture the essence of what I heard. Each print in the series represents a personal story shaped by the narratives and emotions of the interviewees. A central aim of the project is to learn from these individuals how they experience the forest and what significance it holds for them. These perspectives offer me the opportunity to perceive the forest in a new way and deepen my own relationship with it. I wish to make these experiences accessible to the viewer through my works, inviting them to discover the forest from new angles. The series was created using etching techniques on high-quality handmade paper. This method, characterized by fine lines and textured surfaces, enhances the depth and details of the compositions. The special paper gives the prints a unique tactile quality and emphasizes the craftsmanship that is evident in each individual piece. My images often feature a dense center surrounded by ample white space. This design approach symbolizes a focus on the essential, eliminating the unimportant, and encourages the viewer to look closer. My own deep connection to the forest dates back to my childhood. For me, the forest is a place of reflection and retreat, which ultimately inspired me to create Forest Memories.
